The Bushbaby Foundation was made aware of the desperate situation of the Children of the D Block ward at The University Teaching Hospital (UTH) who had been on a 2500 patient list awaiting life changing surgical procedures. When our cooperating partner,Biodot medical supplies Limited brought to the attention of the Bushbaby team that the UTH Children’s theater though recently renovated, was not operational as the renovation works only covered the theater room and not the changing lockers for the surgeons which remained in a deplorable state with no running water. Biodot and the Bushbaby foundation then came together to refurbish the surgeon’s locker room by replacing the old tiles, taps, toilets and seats, sinks and the showers. We also replaced the doctor’s lockers, restored the water supply to the theatre as well as placed a new water tank to assist with the erratic water supply to the Children’s ward. We have committed to maintain the water system that has been installed at the Children’s theatre.
The BushBaby Foundation aims bridge the gap between the haves and have nots by making available services that would ordinarily be out of the reach of most Zambians.
